1.5 Ghz for the Galaxy S2!

As if the S2 wasn’t fast enough already, we have a demonstration of how stable the Galaxy S2 is when it is overclocked to 1.5 Ghz.  S2 users around the world can watch this video to see how easy it is to do.  Unfortunately for us in the U.S., we’ll have to dream about the upcoming release, and hope it is sooner rather than later.  The U.S. release date for the S2 is still in the May-June range, although my personal guess now is that there is no way it will be May… but I hope I’m wrong.

We have a few hands-on photos of the Galaxy S2 superphone for you to drool over! I can’t get over how thin this phone is!

Skinny!

Its barely wider than the headphone jack!

Just barely bigger than the 3.5mm headphone jack...

Here is another shot of the screen and just how snug it fits into your hand.  The screen went from 4″ on the Galaxy S to 4.3″ on the S2, but it doesn’t feel too big for the hand, it feels like a perfect size.

The back of the phone shows us the 8MP camera along with the single LED flash.  Hopefully all the U.S. carriers keep the flash and don’t strip it out like one company did, whose name I won’t reveal here (it rhymes with T-Mobile!).

Samsung Galaxy S2 Video Review

The Galaxy S2 was revealed today at MWC 2011 in Barcelona, Spain, and we are bringing you the first video hands-on review from mobileburn.com. This is just a taste of more in-depth reviews to come. The 4.3 inch super AMOLED+ screen looks great, and it looks like the S2 does have the LED flash and front facing camera for video chat.

We’ve also heard that Samsung may only be releasing it with AT&T initially in the U.S. (what? T-mobile better get its act together!). They’ve sold millions of the Galaxy S line already in the U.S., I’m sure the S2 will be released on more than just one carrier to take advantage of the customer base they’ve spent so much time and advertising dollars building… I think they’d be crazy to put this android phone only on AT&T.

Specs and pics leaked one day early

Here is the Galaxy S2… yes this is the real thing!

And what specs are confirmed? No more guessing!

This thing is thin…. the original Galaxy S was 9.9mm thick, the S2 is 8.49mm and 116 grams. It has lost weight, but gained an even bigger screen, coming in at 4.3 inches. It also sports a dual Exynos (formerly know as Orion) processor. This is definitely blowing the iphone 4 out of the water, and the iphone 5 has its work cut out for it.

One thing I think is great is the 1080p video recording and integration with DLNA capable Samsung devices. I have a Samsung LCD tv, and having the S2 send video straight to my tv without having to set up connections and troubleshoot would be great. And imagine seeing my video in full HD with no picture degradation, that’s sweet!

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is also supposed to have Wi-Fi Wireless-N, HSPA+ and Bluetooth connectivity. As you know, HSPA+ is basically 4G.

The S2 is now expected in late Q2 2011, so it sounds like May or June of this year. Let’s see if GalaxyS2Review.com can get ahold of an early release phone to do a review on…

Big time spec leak on the Galaxy S2, but is it real or fake?

Thanks to Pocketnow.com, we have our hands on a leaked spec sheet on the Samsung Galaxy S2, the question is, is this all made up?  Take a look…

Galaxy S2 specsIf this is true, there is no Orion processor like we thought before, probably because it wasn’t going to be ready in time for production.  Still, it is a dual-core Snapdragon processor, which has tons of speed and power.  Also, a 4.27 inch screen instead of a 4.5.  I really don’t think that is a big deal if true, I don’t like the screen size on my phone getting so big I have to use two hands on it all the time.

So judging by most opinions, this spec sheet is on the edge of being called fake by the majority of people, simply because the processor stats don’t match up with what was expected and aren’t exactly a big step ahead of the previous Galaxy generation.  Well, we only have a couple more days until we find out for sure… I for one can’t wait!
